THE BEST CARE FOR THE WISEST.
How can we contribute to the quality of life of the people we care for?
We would all love to live our last years with a great quality of life but it is not always possible. Watching our parents and friends grow old is not easy but we can be of great help. There are actions and behaviors that we can acquire in our daily lives to contribute to the quality of life of the person we care for, and of course, our own. Below is a list of tips that can benefit our daily care routine:
Give yourself a moment of the day to meditate and feel his breath.
Write a list of daily tasks and cross them off, so that at the end of the day you will know how many you have completed.
Spend a moment of the day sharing anecdotes with the person you care for; remember those funny moments or achievements in your life that have allowed you to feel happy.
Always remember to ask the person you care about for their opinion regarding a decision that involves them.
Whenever possible, do not lose contact with friends and family.
Arranges furniture and clears spaces in the house in a way that allows the caregiver to move around safely. It anchors carpets to the floor, ventilates and illuminates the spaces in the house.
If there are activities that are too complex for the person being cared for, simplify the steps of the activity. What we should try to do is to make him/her have small achievements, but safe, in a way that allows him/her to feel capable.
Make sure that the person can participate in at least two activities a day, it is very important that they are of interest to him/her in order to be satisfied with their performance.
